What to do after we found the game engine we want to use?
The simple story.
If we don't want to be lost, we shall find some guy on YouTube who is already doing a few stuff and tutorials with the game engine we choose. In the previews article there were only 3 game engines, but you can find much more on game engines lists.
The first and most important thing is, to plan the whole thing. Gether information, and plan your game. After you see a few tutorial videos and see game engine HUD and working, you will understand a lot.
After you found the game engine for you, you should find the official site of it, and get the resources you need. The basic tutorial videos and documentation are the best resources. Start with small things like "How to make my hero move or jump?" or "How to show a video or image in the game?" You will need your problem solving skills, so be prepared.
After you followed a few tutorials, which are containing the style that you want to make, you should take a step forward.
Usually after buying the game engine, we still don't have any models, sounds and other resources like these. We must create 2D, 3D models, sounds, music, images and other stuff or download them from free websites or buy them. There are a lot model bases offering free professional content. But remember: you must have the owners permition to download the free stuff, or you can read the license of the model. Secondly remember this, because you might end up stealing without knowing.
If you are planning to buy something, you better look around the market like always. You may find the content you need for free.

Music and sounds are not the same. Sounds can be easy to make and the music is not that hard. The only part that is hard about sounds is the voice actor question. If you want to have speaking characters, you can do it alone with a tone modifier, or you can ask your friends/family and of course you can pay for voice acting.
So now you planned the whole game, and have everything except the code which brings the stuff together. This is the only thing you need to do from now before publishing, marketing and selling your game.
The marketing is a critical point. You can share it on indie developer website, forum and other kinds of places. You can run it in competitions, share it with the power of social media and such. Selling is also a critical point, because if you are the publisher, not a smaller or bigger company, you have to say a number. $1? $2? $50?
After all of these, you may end up selling your game.
